RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Optimized New Shengmai Powder (ONSMP) is a traditional Chinese medicine formula with significant anti-heart failure and myocardial fibrosis effects, but the specific molecular biological mechanisms are not fully understood. METHODS: In this study, we first used network pharmacology to analyze the ONSMP's active ingredients, core signaling pathways, and core targets. Second, calculate the affinity and binding modes of the ONSMP components to the core targets using molecular docking. Finally, the heart failure rat model was established by ligating the left anterior descending branch of the coronary artery and assessing the effect of ONSMP on myocardial fibrosis in heart failure using echocardiography, cardiac organ coefficients, heart failure markers, and pathological sections after 4 weeks of drug intervention. The cAMP level in rat myocardium was determined using Elisa, the α-SMA and FSP-1 positive expression determined by immunohistochemistry, and the protein and mRNA levels of the cAMP/Rap1A signaling pathway were detected by Western Blotting and quantitative real-time PCR, respectively. RESULTS: The result shows that the possible mechanism of ONSMP in reducing myocardial fibrosis also includes the use of 12 active ingredients such as baicalin, vitamin D, resveratrol, tanshinone IIA, emodin, 15,16-dihydrotanshinone-i to regulate ß1-AR, AC6, EPAC1, Rap1 A, STAT3, and CCND1 on the cAMP/Rap1A signaling pathway, thereby inhibiting the proliferation of cardiac fibroblasts and reduce the excessive secretion of collagen, effectively improve cardiac function and ventricular remodeling in heart failure rats. CONCLUSION: This research shows that ONSMP can inhibit myocardial fibrosis and delay heart failure through the cAMP/Rap1A signaling pathway.

RESUMO

Knee replacement surgery confronts challenges including patient dissatisfaction and the necessity for secondary procedures. A key requirement lies in dual-modal measurement of force and temperature of artificial joints during postoperative monitoring. Here, a novel non-toxic near-infrared (NIR) phosphor Sr3 Sn2 O7 :Nd, Yb, is designed to realize the dual-modal measurement. The strategy is to entail phonon-assisted upconversion luminescence (UCL) and trap-controlled mechanoluminescence (ML) in a single phosphor well within the NIR biological transmission window. The phosphor is embedded in medical bone cement forming a smart joint in total knee replacements illustrated as a proof-of-concept. The sensing device can be charged in vitro by a commercial X-ray source with a safe dose rate for ML, and excited by a low power 980 nm laser for UCL. It attains impressive force and temperature sensing capabilities, exhibiting a force resolution of 0.5% per 10 N, force detection threshold of 15 N, and a relative temperature sensitive of up to 1.3% K-1 at 309 K. The stability against humidity and thermal shock together with the robustness of the device are attested. This work introduces a novel methodological paradigm, paving the way for innovative research to enhance the functionality of artificial tissues and joints in living organisms.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND/AIM: This study aimed to compare the clinical efficacy of two different Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) strains, TICE strain (OncoTICE) and Connaught strain (ImmuCyst), as a first line intravesical instillation therapy in patients with T1 high grade bladder cancer. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Patients with newly diagnosed T1 high-grade bladder cancer who underwent transurethral resection of bladder tumor (TURBT) followed by intravesical instillation therapy were enrolled. The effects of BCG strain on recurrence, progression, and side effects were analyzed using Kaplan-Meier and Cox proportional hazards models. RESULTS: Among 147 patients, 53 patients received Connaught strain and 94 patients received TICE strain. The completion rate of induction instillation was 92.45% in the Connaught group and 91.49% in the TICE group (p=1.00). The three-year recurrence-free survival rate was 71.7% in the Connaught group and 63.83% in the TICE group (p=0.33), whereas the three-year progression-free survival rate was 96.23% in the Connaught group and 89.36% in the TICE group (p=0.21). On Cox regression test, carcinoma in situ and ≥eight lesions were significant predictors for recurrence. No significant difference was observed in recurrence and progression between the two BCG regimens. The complication rates according to the Cleveland Clinic grading system showed no significant difference between the two groups (p=0.13). CONCLUSION: Both the Connaught and TICE strains of BCG demonstrated comparable three-year recurrence-free survival rates and three-year progression-free survival rates for T1 high grade bladder cancer, as well as comparable adverse events. Due to the global BCG shortage, further strain comparisons are essential for clinical validation.

RESUMO

There is increasing evidence that endothelin-1 (ET-1) or related peptides play a prognostic value in coronary artery disease (CAD). The objective of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to evaluate the predictive role of ET-1 or related peptides in CAD patients. We comprehensively searched PubMed and Embase databases until January 15, 2023. Studies examining the association of ET-1, big ET-1, or C-terminal proendothelin-1 (CT-proET-1) level with all-cause mortality or major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs) in CAD patients were included. Fourteen studies with 30,181 patients were identified. Comparison of the top and the lowest ET-1 level, the pooled risk ratio (RR) of all-cause mortality was 3.77 (95% confidence interval [CI] 1.59-8.94) for ET-1 and 1.65 (95% CI 1.25-2.18) for big ET-1. The pooled RR of MACEs was 2.24 (95% CI 1.85-2.72) for ET-1, 1.49 (95% CI 1.10-2.03) for big ET-1, and 3.55 (95% CI 2.12-5.96) for CT-proET-1, respectively. Subgroup analysis indicated that elevated ET-1 level was associated with 2.66-fold and 2.09-fold higher risk of in-hospital/30-day and long-term MACEs. Elevated ET-1, big ET-1, or CT-proET-1 may be independently associated with higher risk of all-cause mortality and MACEs in patients with CAD.

RESUMO

Objective To determine the optimal dosage and intervention duration of reserpine to establish a rat model of hypotension. Methods According to the body weight and systolic blood pressure (SBP),60 male Wistar rats were assigned to six groups (n=10),including a control group and five observation groups with different doses. The control group was administrated with 10 ml/kg 0.5% sodium carboxymethyl cellulose solution, and the observation groups with 0.016,0.032,0.064,0.128,and 0.160 mg/kg reserpine suspensions, respectively. All the groups were administrated by gavage twice a day,and the body weights of rats were monitored daily.SBP and heart rate (HR) were measured before modeling and 1-6 weeks after administration. After 6 weeks of administration, the blood samples of inner canthus were collected. The levels of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH),creatine kinase MB isoenzyme (CK-MB),alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase (AST),serum creatinine, and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) were measured by an autoanalyzer.Three rats in each group were randomly selected for observation of the changes in SBP after drug withdrawal and the rest rats were sacrificed for measurement of the levels of norepinephrine and dopamine in the brain. Results Compared with the control group, different doses of reserpine lowered the SBP of rats (F=28.492,P<0.001).The decline in SBP increased in a concentration-dependent manner.SBP reached the lowest value after 1 week, rose slightly later, and was stable after 3 weeks of administration. There was no significant difference in SBP between 0.016 mg/kg reserpine group and the control group after the 5th week (P>0.05).The SBP levels of rats in 0.032,0.064,0.128,and 0.160 mg/kg reserpine groups showed no significant difference between each other (P=0.204) and were lower than that in the control group (all P<0.001).One week after drug withdrawal, the SBP of rats in the observation groups rose to the baseline level and remained stable.HR showed similar changes among groups, first increasing and then decreasing. There was no significant difference in HR among different groups at the same time point (F=0.922,P=0.475).Compared with the control group, reserpine of different doses reduced the norepinephrine content in the hippocampus (all P<0.001),and 0.128 mg/kg (P=0.045) and 0.160 mg/kg (P=0.042) reserpine lowered the dopamine level in the striatum, which showed no significant differences between different reserpine groups(P=0.343,P=0.301).The levels of LDH,CK-MB,and BUN in the serum increased with the increase in reserpine concentration, and the levels of LDH (P=0.001),CK-MB (P=0.020),AST (P=0.007),and BUN (P=0.001) in the 0.160 mg/kg reserpine group were significantly different from those in the control group. Conclusions The rat model of hypotension can be induced by gavage with reserpine. The gavage with reserpine at a dose of 0.032 mg/kg,twice a day for three consecutive weeks is the optimal scheme for the modeling. After the model establishment, continuous administration is essential to maintain the hypotension.

RESUMO

In recent years, remote sensing images of various types have found widespread applications in resource exploration, environmental protection, and land cover classification. However, relying solely on a single optical or synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image as the data source for land cover classification studies may not suffice to achieve the desired accuracy in ground information monitoring. One widely employed neural network for remote sensing image land cover classification is the U-Net network, which is a classical semantic segmentation network. Nonetheless, the U-Net network has limitations such as poor classification accuracy, misclassification and omission of small-area terrains, and a large number of network parameters. To address these challenges, this research paper proposes an improved approach that combines both optical and SAR images in bands for land cover classification and enhances the U-Net network. The approach incorporates several modifications to the network architecture. Firstly, the encoder-decoder framework serves as the backbone terrain-extraction network. Additionally, a convolutional block attention mechanism is introduced in the terrain extraction stage. Instead of pooling layers, convolutions with a step size of 2 are utilized, and the Leaky ReLU function is employed as the network's activation function. This design offers several advantages: it enhances the network's ability to capture terrain characteristics from both spatial and channel dimensions, resolves the loss of terrain map information while reducing network parameters, and ensures non-zero gradients during the training process. The effectiveness of the proposed method is evaluated through land cover classification experiments conducted on optical, SAR, and combined optical and SAR datasets. The results demonstrate that our method achieves classification accuracies of 0.8905, 0.8609, and 0.908 on the three datasets, respectively, with corresponding mIoU values of 0.8104, 0.7804, and 0.8667. Compared to the traditional U-Net network, our method exhibits improvements in both classification accuracy and mIoU to a certain extent.

RESUMO

Much can be learned from the research and development of scintillator crystals for improving the scintillation performance of glasses. Relying on the concept of "embedding crystalline order in glass", we have demonstrated that the scintillation properties of Ce3+-doped nanoglass composites (nano-GCs) can be optimized via the synergistic effects of Gd3+-sublattice sensitization and band-gap engineering. The nano-GCs host a large volume fraction of KYxGd1-xF4 mixed-type fluoride nanocrystals (NCs) and still retain reasonably good transparency at Ce3+-emitting wavelengths. The light yield of 3455 ± 20 ph/MeV is found, which is the largest value ever reported in fluoride NC-embedded nano-GCs. A comprehensive study is given on the highly selective doping of Ce3+ in the NCs and its positive effect on the scintillation properties. The favorable influence of the Y3+/Gd3+ mixing on the suppression of defects is accounted for by density functional theory and borne out experimentally. As a proof-of-concept, X-ray imaging with a good spatial resolution (7.9 lp/mm) is demonstrated by employing Ce3+-doped nano-GCs. The superior radiation hardness, repeatability, and thermal stability of the designed scintillators bode well for their long-term practical applications.

RESUMO

Mechanoluminescence (ML) phosphors have made significant progress in various fields, such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and biotechnology. However, enhancing their weak ML intensity still remains a challenge. Here, we report a new series of Na1-xMgxNbO3:Pr3+ (x = 0.00, 0.10, 0.20, 0.40, 0.60, 0.80, and 1.00 mol %) heterojunction systems, which exhibit significant ML enhancement as compared with either the Pr3+-doped NaNbO3 or MgNbO3, and the physical mechanisms behind the ML enhancement have been explored comprehensively from both the experiment and theory points of view. Experimental tests, including thermoluminescence and positron annihilation lifetime measurements, combined with first-principles calculations, consistently indicate that the ML enhancement observed in these newly reported systems is due to the formation of heterojunctions, which plays a crucial role in modulating the defect configuration of the phosphors and facilitating efficient charge transfer. By controlling the Na/Mg ratio in conjunction with Pr3+ doping, continuous changes in the band offset and the concentrations of certain types of traps in the forbidden gap are achieved, leading to the optimum conditions in the 8/2 ratio samples. These findings demonstrate a novel type of ML phosphor and provide a theoretical basis for the design of high-performance ML phosphor.

RESUMO

Arrhythmia is an external manifestation of cardiac electrophysiological disorder. It exists in healthy people and patients with various heart diseases, which is often associated with other cardiovascular diseases. The contraction and diastole of myocardium are inseparable from the movement of ions. There are many ion channels in the membrane and organelle membrane of myocardium. The dynamic balance of myocardial ions is vital in maintaining myocardial electrical homeostasis. Potassium ion channels that have a complex variety and a wide distribution are involved in the whole process of resting potential and action potential of cardiomyocytes. Potassium ion channels play a vital role in maintaining normal electrophysiological activity of myocardium and is one of the pathogenesis of arrhythmia. Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)has unique advantages in treating arrhythmia for its complex active components and diverse targets. A large number of TCM preparations have definite effect on treating arrhythmia-related diseases, whose antiarrhythmic mechanism may be related to the effect on potassium channel. This article mainly reviewed the relevant studies on the active components in TCM acting on different potassium channels to provide references for clinical drug use and development.

RESUMO

Sliding-freestanding triboelectric nanogenerators (SF-TENGs) are desirable for application in wearable power sources; however, improving their durability is the primary challenge. Meanwhile, few studies focus on enhancing the service life of tribo-materials, especially from an anti-friction perspective during dry operation. Herein, for the first time, a surface-textured film with self-lubricating property is introduced into the SF-TENG as a tribo-material, which is obtained by the self-assembly of hollow SiO2 microspheres (HSMs) close to a polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) surface under vacuum conditions. The PDMS/HSMs film with micro-bump topography simultaneously reduces the dynamic coefficient of friction from 1.403 to 0.195 and increases the electrical output of SF-TENG by an order of magnitude. Subsequently, a textured film and self-adapting contact synergized bidirectional rotary TENG (TAB-TENG) is developed, and the superiorities of the soft flat rotator with bidirectional reciprocating rotation are systematically investigated. The obtained TAB-TENG exhibits a remarkable output stability and an outstanding mechanical durability over 350 000 cycles. Furthermore, a smart foot system for stepping energy harvesting and wireless walking states monitoring is realized. This study proposes a pioneering strategy for extending the lifetime of SF-TENGs and advances it toward practical wearable applications.

RESUMO

Despite the close relationship between visual working memory (VWM) and visual awareness, the question of how these two constructs interact with each other is still under debate. The current study aimed to further address this issue by investigating whether and how visual awareness is influenced by VWM load. In Experiment 1, participants were asked to perform a motion-induced blindness (MIB) task while simultaneously memorizing different numbers of items in VWM. The results indicated that the latency of MIB was prolonged gradually as the VWM load increased, revealing a linear trend in the modulation effect of VWM load on visual awareness. Experiments 2 and 3 tested the other potential explanations and validated the initial finding by confirming that VWM load was indeed responsible for the observed effect on visual awareness. These findings have important implications for a better understanding of the relationship between VWM and visual awareness.

RESUMO

Based on stable isotope technology and a PMF model, the pollution characteristics and sources of carbon and nitrogen components in ambient PM2.5 in Huangshi City were explored. The results showed that the total carbon concentration[ρ(TC)] and the total carbon isotopic composition (δ13CTC) in ambient PM2.5 in Huangshi City both showed seasonal variation characteristics of being high in winter and low in summer, with values of (4.4±1.2) µg·m-3 and (-26.3±0.5)‰ in summer and (9.9±3.5) µg·m-3 and (-25.5±0.5)‰ in winter, respectively. The total nitrogen concentration[ρ(TN)]was significantly lower in summer[(9.1±9.1) µg·m-3]than that in winter[(62.4±26.4) µg·m-3], whereas the total nitrogen isotopic composition (δ15NTN) was obviously enriched in summer[(12.8±1.9)‰]compared with that in winter[(2.9±4.0)‰]. In addition to the contribution from local sources, the carbon and nitrogen components were mainly affected by the short-range regional emission in northern Hunan and the long-distance transport in the northwest. The MixSIAR model and the PMF model indicated that the vehicle emission source was the main source of carbon components in PM2.5, with contribution rates of 38.9% and 39.3%, respectively. MixSIAR results showed that NOx emission sources had a greater impact on nitrogen components in PM2.5 of different seasons than NH3 emission sources, and their contribution was higher in summer (80%) than that in winter (66.8%), among which the NOx emissions from coal combustion (summer:36.1%; winter:20.2%) had the largest contribution. By contrast, the PMF model indicated that the main source of nitrogen components was vehicle emissions (59.8%). Combining multiple models to overcome the uncertainty and subjectivity of single-model analysis can provide a theoretical basis for actively controlling and reducing fine particulate matter emissions and effectively dealing with urban aerosol pollution.

RESUMO

Using corn stover as raw material, the adsorption mechanism of ammonium nitrogen by biochar prepared by different modification methods was studied. The biochar was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, surface-area analysis and scanning electron microscopy. The results showed that the adsorption of NH 4 + - N by different modified biochars confirmed the quasi-second-order kinetic equation (R 2 > 0.95, p ≤ 0.05), the adsorption isotherms of the Langmuir equation (R 2 ≥ 0.96, p ≤ 0.05). ΔG θ < 0, ΔH θ > 0 indicated that the adsorption of NH 4 + - N by different modified biochars was a spontaneous endothermic reaction. With the increase in adsorption temperature, the adsorption capacity of biochar to ammonium nitrogen increased gradually. The adsorption was monolayer adsorption and was controlled by a fast reaction. Both KOH and FeCl3 modified biochars significantly improved the adsorption capacity of NH 4 + - N , and the adsorption mechanism was different. The adsorption capacity of NH 4 + - N by FeCl3 modified biochars mainly increased the specific surface area and micropore volume. The adsorption of ammonium nitrogen after KOH modification primarily depended on the wealthy oxygen-containing functional groups. The adsorption effect of ammonium nitrogen modified by KOH was better than that of biochar modified by FeCl3.

RESUMO

Five new furanobutenolide-derived C19-norcembranoid diterpenes, sinudenoids A-E (1-5, respectively), were isolated from the soft coral Sinularia densa. Sinudenoid A (1) possesses an uncommon 5/5/11-fused tricyclic ring system. Sinudenoids B-D (2-4, respectively) share the same tetracyclic 5/5/6/6 ring system but represent two kinds of new skeletons. Sinudenoid E (5) is the second compound with the rare 8/8 bicyclic carbon core. A plausible biosynthesis pathway for compounds 1-6 is proposed. Compound 5 exhibits strong anti-inflammatory activity in the zebrafish model.

RESUMO

Coronary microvascular disease (CMVD) is common in patients with cardiovascular risk factors and is associated with an increased risk of adverse cardiovascular events. Although the study of CMVD in modern medicine is ongoing, there is still no effective treatment for it. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has some clinical advantages based on syndrome differentiation and individualized treatment. In this review, we review the clinical significance, pathogenesis, and current treatments of CMVD and systematically summarize the clinical efficacy and potential action mechanisms of TCM for CMVD. In addition, the scientific problems that need to be solved urgently and the research strategy of TCM for CMVD are described. CMVD has great clinical significance, but there are still many gaps in the related research. This review aims to attract the attention of clinicians to CMVD and promote research on CMVD in TCM.

RESUMO

The regulatory role of cytokinins (CTKs) in leaf senescence has been documented in different species, including Chinese flowering cabbage. However, its physiological and molecular basis relatively remains unknown. In this study, exogenous application of a CTK analogue 6-benzylaminopurine (6-BA) significantly retarded leaf senescence of Chinese flowering cabbage, with less chlorophyll degradation and lower accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and malondialdehyde compared with the control group. Meanwhile, higher levels of soluble sugars and proteins, flavonoids, cellulose, amino acids, total phenols, procanthocyanins, and vitamin C were retained in 6-BA-treated leaves. 6-BA treatment also prevented the decline in endogenous CTK content and the increase in ethylene, abscisic acid, and jasmonic acid contents. Moreover, the comparative transcriptome analysis revealed that a total of 21,895 differently expressed genes (DEGs) were identified from four comparisons of 6-BA treatment versus the control during senescence. Further analysis showed that most of the identified DEGs were enriched in ROS, respiratory metabolism, and phytohormone pathways, and a total of 50 classes of transcription factors that were possibly involved in modulating these DEGs were obtained. The transcriptional levels of 18 DEGs were verified by Quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR), which confirmed the accuracy of the transcriptomic data. Overall, these findings and data provide a comprehensive view of physiological and molecular events concerning with the CTK-mediated leaf senescence and -maintained quality in economical leafy vegetables.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To observe clinical effect of calcium sulfate on promoting natural healing of docking sites during bone transport. METHODS: A retrospective study was performed on the patients with posttraumatic chronic osteomyelitis treated by bone transport and calcium sulfate implantation from January 2013 to January 2018. There were 23 males and 4 females, aged from 20 to 61 years old with an average of (44.30±10.00) years, the courses of disease ranged from 3 to 86 months with an average of(13.26±16.47) months. Sixteen patients with posttraumatic chronic osteomyelitis were caused by internal fixation of closed fractures, and 11 patients were caused by open fractures. The length of bone defects after debridement ranged from 4 to 14 cm with an average of(9.11±2.57) cm. Postoperative complications, natural healing rate of the docking sites, external fixation index were observed, Checketts & Otterburn pin-tract infection classification was used to evaluate pin-tract infection, and Paley evaluation criteria was used to evaluate bone and function results. RESULTS: Twenty-seven patients were followed up from 26 to 41 months with an average of (31.32±3.37) months. It did not happened skin embedded between bone stumps in all patients. All patients obtained bone union at (17.78±5.43) months after operation.Among them, 25 patients healed naturally in the docking sites, 2 patients with poor compliance healed after debridement and bone grafting in the docking sites. One patient occurred equines deformity, and no re-fracture or recurrence of infection occurred. According to Checketts & Otterburn pin tract infection classification, 22 patients (41 pin tracts)occurred pin-tract infection with varying degrees. The average external fixation index was (2.02±0.24) months/cm(ranged from 1.6 to 2.4 months/cm). According to Paley evaluation criteria, bony results showed 21 patients obtained excellent results, 5 good, and 1 moderate;functional results showed 19 patients got excellent results, 7 good, and 1 moderate. CONCLUSION: During bone transport, the implantation of calcium sulfate on the bone defect areas could prevent skin embedding between the bone stumps, benefit for the natural healing of the docking sites, and could avoid the second-stage debridement and bone grafting for most patients. However, it should be noted that compliance needs to be increased.

RESUMO

Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a chronic and progressive disease caused by obstructions and functional changes of small pulmonary arteries. Current treatment options of PH are costly with patients needing long-term taking medicine. The traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) compound "Shufeiya Recipe" was used to intervene in monocrotaline- (MCT-) induced pulmonary hypertension in rats. The rats were randomly divided into the control group, model group, positive drug (Sildenafil) group, and Shufeiya Recipe low-, moderate-, and high-dose groups. The improvement effect of the Shufeiya Recipe on the mean pulmonary artery pressure (mPAP) was assessed in PH rats, and pathological staining was used to observe the pathological changes of lung tissue. The impact of the Shufeiya Recipe on oxidative stress damage in rats with pulmonary hypertension and the regulation of SIRT3/FOXO3a and its downstream signaling pathways were determined. The results showed that Shufeiya Recipe could significantly downregulate mPAP and improve lung histopathological changes; downregulate serum levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS); upregulate the concentrations of COX-1 and COX-2 and the activity of Mn-SOD; inhibit oxidative response damage; promote the protein expression of SIRT3, FOXO3a, p-PI3K, p-AKT, and p-eNOS; increase the level of expression of NO, sGC, cGMP, and PKG; and downregulate the level of protein expression of Ras, p-MEK1/2, p-ERK1/2 and c-fos. These results indicate that Shufeiya Recipe can improve MCT-induced pulmonary hypertension in rats by regulating SIRT3/FOXO3a and its downstream PI3K/AKT/eNOS and Ras/ERK signaling pathways.

RESUMO

Ferroptosis is an iron-dependent regulated necrosis characterized by the peroxidation damage of lipid molecular containing unsaturated fatty acid long chain on the cell membrane or organelle membrane after cellular deactivation restitution system, resulting in the cell membrane rupture. Ferroptosis is biochemically and morphologically distinct and disparate from other forms of regulated cell death. Recently, mounting studies have investigated the mechanism of ferroptosis, and numerous proteins play vital roles in regulating ferroptosis. With detailed studies, emerging evidence indicates that ferroptosis is found in multiple lung diseases, demonstrating that ferroptosis appears to be particularly important for lung diseases. The mounting interest in ferroptosis drugs specifically targeting the ferroptosis mechanism holds substantial therapeutic promise in lung diseases. The present review emphatically summarizes the functions and integrated molecular mechanisms of ferroptosis in various lung diseases, proposing that multiangle regulation of ferroptosis might be a promising strategy for the clinical treatment of lung diseases.
